The oldest version of Quran is at Birmingham University
17 Jun 2019 Did you know that the oldest known manuscript of the Quran in the world is 1370 years old? Dr Alba Fideli found it in a library at the University of Birmingham as she was studying Middle Eastern manuscripts as part of her PHD. After the two pages were subjected to radioactive carbon technology, it was found to date back to the period of the Caliph Uthman ibn Affan. That means it was written between 568 and 645 AD. It includes the last five verses of Surah Maryam and Surah Taha. The manuscript is part of the university's collection of 3,000 documents from the Middle East, which they received in the 1920s from a priest born near Mosul, Iraq. Source: Dubai Post
